วันมาฆบูชา
Mongkoltepmunee Buddhist Temple will make arrangement for members to celebrate Magha Bhuja on Sunday February 25th, 2024.
The program will start with Morning Chant, followed by Tak Bart and alms giving to promote the spirit of charity.
Magha Bhuja is an important holiday to commemorate the auspicious time as four unique events spontaneously occurred on the Magha full-moon day of the third lunar month. It was the day when the Buddha recited the Ovada-Patimoka (also known as the principles of Buddhism) to his disciples.
On this day, there were 1,250 monks from separate parts of the country who independently decided to visit and pay respect to the Buddha at Veruvana Monastery in Sarnath. All 1,250 monks were ordained by the Buddha and all were Arahants (enlightened ones).
วันมาฆบูชา เป็นวันสำคัญวันหนึ่งของพระพุทธศาสนา คือเป็นวันที่พระบรมศาสดาสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้าของเราทั้งหลาย ได้ ทรงแสดงโอวาทปาฎิโมกข์ในท่ามกลางพระอรหัรต์ 1,250 รูป เรียกวันประชุมใหญ่นั้นว่า จาตุรงคสันนิบาต อันเป็นการประชุมที่ประกอบด้วยองค์ 4 คือ
- พระสงฆ์สาวก 1,250 รูป มาประชุมกันโดยมีได้นัดหมาย
- พระภิกษุเหล่านั้นล้วนเป็นดเอหิภิกขุอุปสัมปทา หรือ พระพุทธเจ้าทรงบวชให้เอง
- พระภิกษุเหล่านั้นล้วนเป็นพระอรหันต์ทั้งสิ้น และท่านเหล่านั้นได้อภิญญา 6
- วันนั้นเป็นวันมาฆปูรณี พระจันทร์เต็มดวง
ด้วยเหตุนี้ พระสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้า จึงได้ทรงแสดงโอวาทปาฎิโมกข์ ซึ่งจัดว่าเป็นการประดิษฐานพระพุทธศาสนา คือ วางหลักแห่งการประกาศพระพุทธศาสนา อันเป็นโอวาทคำสั่งสอนที่วางหลักแห่งความประพฤติปฎิบัติเป็นส่วนของธรรมโดยแท้
ดังนั้น วัดมงคลเทพมุนี จึงจัดให้มีการบำเพ็ญบุญในวันมาฆบูชา มีทำวัตรเช้า เจริญสมาธิภาวนา ทำบุญตักบาตร ปิดทองพระ เวียนเทียน เป็นต้น

- 10:00 am สมาทานศีล, พระสงฆ์เจริญพระพุทธมนต์, สาธุชนตักบาตร
Promising of the five precepts, blessing chant and Tak Bart - 11:00 am ถวายภัตตาหารเพลเป็นสังฆทานแด่พระสงฆ์ Offering lunch to monks
- 11:30 am สาธุชนทั้งหลายรับประทานอาหารพร้อมกัน Food court is open to all participants
- 1:00 pm มีพระธรรมเทศนา 1 กัณฑ์ Dhamma sermon
- 1:30 pm ทำพิธีถวายผ้าป่า พระสงฆ์อนุโมทนา, สาธุชนกรวดน้ำ รับพร รับน้ำพระพุทธมนต์
