As Songkran is a celebration of the Thai New Year in April, SARTH is the mid-year seasonal festival in the 10th lunar month. Traditionally, it is a special occasion on which the annual merit rite is dedicated to deceased ancestors paying respect and gratitude to those from whom we are descended. It is also an opportunity for dedicating merit as a grateful acknowledgement of kindness to those cherished ones around us, including the guardian angels.
เทศกาลวันสารท เป็นประเพณีทำบุญเดือน 10 (ตามจันทรคติ) ของทุกปี เพื่ออุทิศส่วนกุศลให้แก่บรรพบุรุษ และญาติมิตรที่ล่วงลับไปแล้ว ถือว่าเป็นโอกาสพิเศษที่ลูกหลานที่มีชีวิตอยู่ จะได้แสดงออกซึ่งความกตัญญูกตเวทีต่อบรรพบุรุษที่ล่วงลับไปแล้ว ด้วยการทำบุญอุทิศไปให้ท่าน
ประเพณีทำบุญวันสารทนี้ เรียกชื่อต่างกันตามภาคต่างๆ ภาคเหนือเรียกว่า “ตานก๋วยสลาก”, ภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ (อีสาน) เรียกว่า “ทำบุญข้าวสาก”, ภาคใต้เรียกว่า “ทำบุญข้าวบิณฑ์และชิงเปรต”
เพื่อให้ท่านทั้งหลายได้บำเพ็ญมหากุศลอุทิศแด่บรรพบุรุษเป็นพิเศษ ทางวัดจึงได้จัดพิธีถวายสังฆทานวันสารท สมเด็จพระบรมศาสดาสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้า ตรัสว่า “ท่านที่ถวายแก่ภิกษุสงฆ์ (สังฆทาน) มีพระพุทธเจ้าเป็นประธานนั้น มีอานิสงส์มาก” ดังนั้น วัดมงคลเทพมุนีจึงจัดให้มีการบำเพ็ญบุญในวันสารทไทย

13:30 Sanghadana Donation, dedicating merit rite to ancestor, blessing chant and sprinkling of sacred water สวดมาติกา-บังสุกุล-ถวายสังฆทาน-ถวายจตุปัจจัยไทยทานแด่พระสงฆ์, พระสงฆ์อนุโมทนา-สาธุชนกรวดน้ำรับพร และรับน้ำพระพุทธมนต์ เป็นเสร็จพิธี

จึงขอเชิญชวนท่านทั้งหลายไปร่วมทำบุญในเทศกาลวันสารทนี้โดยพร้อมเพรียวกัน โดยน้ำอัฐิ รูปถ่าย หรือชื่อ-นามสกุลบรรพบุรุษของท่านไปร่วมพิธีบังสุกุล และเตรียมเครื่องสังฆทานไปด้วยตนเอง หรือจะไปบูชาที่ทางวัดจัดไว้ก็ได้
