งานวันแม่แห่งชาติ และเทศน์มหาชาติพระเวสสันดรชาดก

Mahachart Sermon is one of the most significant religious events in the Buddhist community and it is a Thai tradition for Buddhists to attend this Sermon. It believed to be an utmost merit-making event during which are actively listen to Mahachart Jataka, the story of Buddha’s last incarnation as the Bodhisattava PraVessandorn. It was during this lifetime that the Buddha finalized his ulimate Dana Baramee in preparation for becoming the Buddha in the final incarnation.

The audience will make great merit by listening to all 13 chapters of Mahachart same day. Learning from Mahachart will result in being born during the era of Praseeariyamettrai, the next Buddha.

มหาชาติเป็นการบำเพ็ญทานบารมีชาติสุดท้ายของพระโพธิสัตว์ ครั้งเสวยพระชาติเป็นพระเวสสันดร ก่อนที่จะได้มาตรัสรู้เป็นพระพุทธเจ้า การทำบุญมหาชาติก็คือการฟังพระเทศน์เรื่องการบำเพ็ญทานบารมีของพระเวสสันดร ซึ่งเป็นประเพณีสืบเนื่องมาเป็นระยะเวลายาวนาน โดยเชื่อว่าหากผู้ใดฟังเทศน์ได้ครบ 13 กัณฑ์ ภายในวันเดียว จะได้อานิสงส์อย่างแรงกล้า คือได้เกิดในศาสนาของพระศรีอาริยเมตไตรย ซึ่งจะมาอุบัติเป็นพระพุทธเจ้าในอนาคต การเทศน์มหาชาติจึงเป็นที่นิยมแพร่หลายสืบมาจนถึงทุกวันนี้

09:30 น. พุทธศาสนิกชนทำวัตรเช้า สมาทานศีล เจริญสมาธิภาวนา Morning chant, promising of the five precepts
10:00 น. พระสงฆ์เจริญพระพุทธมนต์, สาธุชนตักบาตร Blessing chant and alms giving around the Sala Building
11:00 น. ภวายภัตตาหารเพลเป็นสังฆทานแด่พระสงฆ์ Offering lunch to monks
11:30 น. สาธุชนทั้งหลายรับประทานอาหารพร้อมกัน food court is open to all participants
12:30 น. เริ่มพิธีเทศน์มหาชาติทั้ง 13 กัณฑ์จนจบ แล้วรับพร, รับน้ำพระพุทธมนต์ เป็นเสร็จพิธี Presentation of 13 chapters of Mahachart Sermon, blessing chant and sprinkling of sacred water at the end of the sermon
